June is for Brides...

Happy June 1st! June is for brides! I have some photos from the archives...I am still working on the setup of my 1980's Wedding day Midge and Allan set.. but for now, I will post photos from my past sets of brides...

 

And finally, these photos are saved from a collector on one of the Barbie Facebook diorama groups, he was an incredible vintage collector who had built this set . I have forgotten his name but I saved these photos for inspiration for my own wedding chapel set and felt they should be shared. They are not mine. 

I hope you were inspired for your own Barbie and Ken wedding with this set from this incredible collector, I have long wanted to build a chapel for my Barbies to have weddings and Baptisms. Just seems a wonderful thing with the clothing sets Mattel has done and I am hoping to do a great diorama once I gather the necessary items for the dolls. Enjoy!

Becky and Malibu Franci in vintage wedding gowns

I have already shown Malibu Francie in Wedding Whirl, but I did a scene with reproduction Becky in a clone? White Wedding dress from 1972-1973 . I cannot find anything in the Barbie reference books, but plenty on Google Lens and Etsy and Ebay. It is referred to as 'White Wedding 1972 or 1973" and sometimes as a clone dress. It does not have a Mattel tag in it, but looks suspiciously like a Mattel dress. I tried it on Becky who is smaller than Barbie and it fit her, I am going to try it in another photo and see it on my vintage Barbie or PJ and see if looks a little more fillled out, since Becky is more of a teenager than Barbie. 

 

Welcome June- Month of Brides

June is here- month of weddings and brides. I am hoping to do bridal photos and different themed photos this month of brides and different dolls in bridesmaids dresses, bridal gowns, etc. 

My reproduction Barbie and Ken wedding set is something I found on sale back in the day at Tuesday Morning, I adore this set and my aunt had the real vintage gown when she was a girl. On my grail list is the vintage Barbie and Ken case with the wedding party on the front and the Skipper flower girl complete set and the Midge bridesmaid set complete. I am hoping to take some photos of my other bridal gowns I have on the other dolls, to add to this blog. June is such a beautiful month with weddings. 

 

Weddings- Celebrating our Anniversary and Barbie's Birthday...

Today is Barbie's Birthday- and my husband and I's anniversary...we have been married for 22 fabulous years. So I thought I would share some wonderful photos of my two favorite things-- dolls and my best friend and partner in crime. 

 

June is for Weddings- Part 2

 I did another take on weddings with the reproduction wedding dress, this time on Fluer Poppy Parker and wedding Ken and flowers scattered all about. I always thought this Poppy- who I have nicknamed Ellie Mae Poppy (After Ellie Mae Clampett on the Beverly Hillbillies) was lovely as a bride. I have another wedding shoot in the works, I am just busy working on miniature foods right now. Be sure to check out my ebay store if you need cakes and breads.
