The Dilemna of Unboxed dolls..

The dilemna of unboxed dolls... that is my subject for my blog post this morning.

This weekend I was doing some sorting of dolls and thought I should do a blog post and start de-boxing my 'new' 1990's wedding day Barbies and Midge dolls and 'found' more dolls that have not been freed from their boxes. The list is long and worse, I have two dolls from the W Club awaiting payment that will be arriving soon and they will need to be de-boxed as well. I am a little overwhelmed and attempting to figure out what and where I am going to be putting them as the circus dolls have been deboxed but- their boxes need to be organized. Right now, here are the dolls  waiting to be de-boxed...

My Poppy Parkers- Sweet Sixteen just arrived a couple of weeks ago, but the Stand Up and Cheer! and Glamour Poppy arrived like- last year? and I still have not deboxed these two. Somehow, they are just lovely to look at and I cannot resist Poppy dolls with ponytails. They are so adorable.

Then, there was this Fresh doll and this other doll, Fresh Squad Anthony and Jr. Rainbow High Bella, I think the name was. She was in that cute bunny outfit. I purchased them both on sale at insanely low prices on an impulse buy and have yet to debox them. I should have at least done the bunny at Easter, but forgot. I think I have another Jr. Rainbox high that hasn't been deboxed yet either.

Then of course, the 1990's Wedding Day Midge and Alan , Barbie and Ken, Stacey and Todd dolls that I purchased some at Arc of the Thrift Barbie Palooza and the rest on Ebay. I had this whole blog post planned with a wedding diorama- totally dropped the ball on that one.

So right now I hope to get to organizing and de-boxing but in the meantime, will be preparing for some fun Independence day/ Fourth of July photos!

June is for Brides...

Happy June 1st! June is for brides! I have some photos from the archives...I am still working on the setup of my 1980's Wedding day Midge and Allan set.. but for now, I will post photos from my past sets of brides...

And finally, these photos are saved from a collector on one of the Barbie Facebook diorama groups, he was an incredible vintage collector who had built this set . I have forgotten his name but I saved these photos for inspiration for my own wedding chapel set and felt they should be shared. They are not mine.

I hope you were inspired for your own Barbie and Ken wedding with this set from this incredible collector, I have long wanted to build a chapel for my Barbies to have weddings and Baptisms. Just seems a wonderful thing with the clothing sets Mattel has done and I am hoping to do a great diorama once I gather the necessary items for the dolls. Enjoy!

New Hallmark Ornaments!

I did some shopping at my favorite store, Oddball's Collectibles and Claire's Antiques store this weekend as they have a whole booth on some Hallmark ornaments they received in and I was hoping to stock up on my Barbie Hallmark ornament collection for my Barbie Christmas tree. I got four ornaments and might go back, but I have to go through what I already have. These are the four I got.

I got two bride sets, one single bride and a Barbie and Ken bridal set, a barbie doll of the world, and the blue Christmas one.

They had a ton of ornaments, but not all of them were Barbie, I had to hunt through the bins on the tables and they had the booth lined with shelves of ornaments and even down to the floor. Best I can figure is they purchased someone's old store stock as these boxes had never been opened and there were multiples of each one. They had Disney, star wars, star trek, movie themed, character themed, etc. I picked the ones that I were hard to find on Ebay, as there were several there that were high and were common to find on Ebay in lots. I averaged about $10-15 apiece, which is fair since they were from 1997- 1998 and they are new in the box. Hoping to add more as I am planning on having a tabletop Pink tree this year! for what I already own! My goal is to eventually have a 7ft tall pink tree with nothing but hallmark Barbie ornaments year round in my doll room. Enjoy!
