Yesterday on Saturday i attended my Dorothy Coleman Doll Club meeting for October. We were to bring either a doll or teddy bear dressed for Halloween. As usual, our members did not disappoint.
The assortment of dolls and teddy bears were assorted artist teddy bears, artist dolls, Custom Blythe, Annalee Halloween selections, Madame Alexander Wendy dolls, Effanbee, Tonner, Betsy McCall, Barbie, American Girl, antique dolls, and more. It was an eye catching display literally put up in minutes as members arrived and assembled the display with their dolls or bears in various places on the table display.
The club also did club business and shared photos on the screen about the recent UFDC Convention in Norfolk, VA as well as the possibility of a future upcoming Regional in either Reston Va or somewhere in Northern Va in 2027 or 2028. The club is also considering doing another luncheon event like the one they did in 2024, at Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens, and speakers are already being lined up. So that is exciting. I did not get to attend that event, as I heard about it too late and was not yet a member of the club, but am looking forward to attending that luncheon event. Hoping it will be fun, since the speakers will be good.
