Va Fashion Doll Club 30th Anniversary Party March 9th, 2025

The VA Fashion Doll Club 30th Anniversary party was on Sunday, March 9th, 2025 and we had a blast! A lot of prep work in to this club meeting/ part to not only celebrate Barbie's birthday, but also the anniversary of the clubs' birthday- 30 years, as well, and its members. Our party was held at the community clubhouse of one of our members , Linda,  and we were able to have permission to use it for our luncheon.

One of our projects was to use the Vogue pattern to create matching dresses for our dolls- most of us purchased repro Barbie ponytails from a dealer Allison knew, so all of the dolls would look similar. Christina had purchased some Richmond, Virginia fabric from a fabric store in Norfolk several months ago that we all chipped in and paid for for the skirt of the dress - someone found the pink fabric for the bodice- and voila! our multi-club member project was started. Some members made dresses for those members who could not sew. One of our members provided all of the little black shoes, (Jodie) and another member made all of the little black belts and provided the pearl necklaces and bracelets! (Marcia) For the photos, we also needed to bring out Betty Picket club purse to complete the outfit!

Next, we were also to wear an outfit in pink or shades of pink- and wear pearls since 30 anniversary is pearls. We also were to bring a doll dressed in pink. And finally, because no party is complete without a gift, for the gift exchange we brought a gift for the gift exchange table.

Our food was catered by Roma's Italian restuarant , it was delicious. Debbie, our club president had worked on photo boards with moments from all of the years- Holidays, club meetings, tons of photos that we could browse.

I also forgot to mention- I made the club pink cakes for souvenirs and Debbie found adorable pink domes for the cakes to go in. The members were so pleased to see the tiny pink cakes go with their dolls in their dresses for the photo op.

Above photo is my doll, I was really pleased at how well I got the skirt fabric with 'Richmond' centered on the front. Her bodice was a little large, but overall, the dress turned out well. I might keep her in this dress on display in my doll room with a photo of this day behind her.

Photos of some the gifts. Above is a photo of a pink depression glass plate and candy dish set with a wobble walking dog that was my gift that Jodie picked.

In the exchange, I received the beautiful little clock with a bird on it, in the above photo, from Nita. And the handmade card was made by her too with the vintage graphics. So adorable!

More photos of the gift bags before they were opened.

Photos of Allison, my friend and her amazing outfit she made to match her number 3 vintage Barbie's outfit! She had purchased the Barbie fabric from Joanns before it closed. Isnt this doll beautiful! But so is Allison! She also made a matching apron with silver lace on it so she could have pockets.

I thought I got a closeup of the cakes in their domes, but here is a close up with the dolls, their purses and dresses, and their cakes I made in the souvenir domes.

Some of the dolls club members brought dressed in pink,

I brought busy PJ in a W club poppy parker dress. She looked so sweet in it I couldnt resist. As a little girl, my favorite doll to play with was PJ and Sweet 16 Barbie. To this day, I think that is why I love W Club Poppy Parker, since she reminds me of the mod PJ also known as 'Midge', lol.
