The 1:6 scale Marketstall

Today was a busy day because the W Club dealers unveiled the new dolls for sale and I was busy placing my pre-orders. I will have more on that later, as I'm sure there are a ton of other blogs out there that have already reported on the hysteria. If you haven't gotten in on that yet, check the sidebar on the blogs I follow.

I have been awol lately because I have been working on a couple of side projects. One is a little pumpkin house for my little Fairyland Realpuki bjd that I never finished, and another is a 1:6 scale marketstall. I came up with the idea when my Va. fashion doll club had been after me to teach them to create miniature food items out of clay. Since it seemed to come to the conclusion to take up a lot of time, I offered to do a short demo of how to make miniature bread instead, and give them a materials list to do it on their own later, so we could devote more time to the dolls/ and presentation .  What got me the idea of the marketstall was looking thru the items at Michael's and coming up with the design later. It was actually a planter to begin with and I bashed it into a marketstall.

Here it is. The diorama mushroomed into its own small town junction stop. I will probably do another one for fruits and vegetables, so they can be standing side by side. The gas pump just makes it, I think. I will probably be making another trip to Hobby Lobby for another Texaco gas pump and doing this as my summer diorama on the opposite side near my window in the doll room. I of course, created all the breads.

I hope you enjoy the pics. Both Poppys are wearing the new sparkle girls line. I adore my starlight poppy in the little overalls and daisy duke halter top, she looks so cute barefoot leaning up against the gas pump with the dog. I will probably take some more pains with this dio to make it look more rustic and small town-ish. The marketstall is raised to make it look like it sits on old wooden pallet crates with vintage signs on them, which I printed off the internet and glued on.
More on this later-

Who Loves Pinterest?

Who doesn't love Pinterest? lol...

It is a time eater and I adore it. It is my digital wish list, my high -tech sears and roebuck catalog of items I want ever so much and all the projects I never get around to building or creating. Today I realized or have realized, that my
1:6 scale dioramas  Pinterest board had over 1,070+ pins of varying genres on it that made no sense or rhyme or reason. Some had been pinned two or three times. Today I decided to make some sense out of this board and break it down into different 1:6 scale boards according to different memes or themes.

Here are the links, and some are still works in progress as I organize.

1:6 scale laundrymat

1:6 scale hospital/doctor

1:6 scale children's rooms

1:6 scale cafes/restuarants

1:6 scale the great outdoors

1:6 scale patios/entrance halls

1:6 scale stage/theatre/bands

1:6 scale Victorian/Wild West

1:6 scale bathrooms/spas

1:6 scale garages, cars bikes

1:6 scale dollhouses

1:6 scale bedrooms/closets

1:6 scale living rooms/parlors

1:6 scale shops/boutiques

1:6 scale kitchens/dining rooms

1:6 scale office dioramas

Right now that is the line up- I have a few more of my own personal ooak creations in 1:6 but these are the main 1:6 diorama boards for your reference. I will probably add more since there are war dioramas, and playground dioramas, and even craft room dioramas that do not fit in with office rooms. I was thinking of adding an explorer section too, for dolls that like to travel/explore. Some pics don't fit into these genres that I have.

I know this seems a little anal, on the digital organizing, but lately I haven't been able to find some of the pics Iknow I had pinned, and it had bothered me, so I wanted to make the boards more user friendly. This way you can find the pins by theme, instead of having to hunt through hundreds of pins which might take over an hour if your computer scrolls slowly, like mine sometimes does.
Enjoy!~Lisa

Some spring cleaning on eBay....

I am doing a little bit of spring cleaning on Ebay with my doll food and one or two other items. Many of these items have been sitting in my Etsy shop- link is here on my blog page- for many months, so I have decided to drop the prices on these items and put them up on Ebay auctions , some with free shipping. The doll food items are in a variety of scales from 1:6, 1:4 and 1:3.

You may have seen these four items above on Instagram and Flicker advertised, as well as Facebook. As I put them on Ebay, they will be coming off of the Etsy store, as I need to move them off and make room.

Here are some more large scale food items I just listed today-

1:3 scale hot dogs, 1:3 scale bread board, and a 1:4 scale bread board.

The American Girl Kit doll is also listed, nude at a reduced price too. I will be working on taking some more pics of 1:6 scale items as I have some 1:6 scale bread boards I will be listing soon. If you would rather not go through ebay, contact me at pumpkinhillstudios@msn.com with 'doll food' in the subject line.

My birthday....

Today is my birthday and I thought long ago I would have all sorts of dolls and loot to share. But after I added up all of the cool dolls and loot it came out to a pretty penny and so I decided there were things I wanted to do, versus have, this weekend. But I did get some dvd's and one or two items today.

First, this week I got a total makeover, with a tanning package.
I had my hair cut and styled with highlights. Forgive the weird look on my face but it's hard to take a selfie.
Then it was on to today's gifts! The hubcap gave me some yankee candles of Bahama breeze and another one that smelled great with a mushy card, I loved it. We had lunch at the historic Hanover tavern not too far from us- this is where Patrick Henry's in laws owned it and he lived while practicing law at the Hanover courthouse across the street.

We had brunswick stew, and homemade chicken salad with cranberries & greens, on toasted rye, with old fashioned fries and a dill pickle, and iced tea. I've been watching what I eat so this was a big treat. The chef has different specials every day and it's all homemade. The stew was made with chicken.

The hubcap had brought me some flowers and I have two dvd's of movies I had been meaning to get.I wanted Blaze for a while now.

And onto some 1:6 stuff- an Ironman dress!

Tony seems to enjoy the dress on mini -me! It was made by toomanypictures or Susan on Flicker. Later I will post the link to her ebay.
I will have more on my birthday celebrations this weekend...tomorrow is dinner at Kenmore Inn, and a Harp concert with the Richmond Symphony on Sunday.  In between some other stuff too!

A trip to Hobby Lobby!

Note to self:  Don't let Lisa go to Hobby Lobby with money!

So I went to Hobby Lobby since I was in the area- it is so far, that when I get to that area of town, I usually stop in. I can't help myself, it is diorama heaven. I found some wonderful items there, not just for doll stuff, but for re-decorating the house. Hubcap and I have been talking about decorating the bedroom and house in a nautical theme, since we leave near the river. Not shabby chic beach, but 'elegant' beach as the hubcap calls it. So I've been taking pics of items that might appeal to me and him. Everything almost appeals to me, except the kindergarden crafty look that I could do myself. Or the campy look. I already have the just-moved-in-and-still-living-out-of-the-boxes-look, as everything in the dining room and den has been packed up to move the rooms about.

Today they had those neat, gas station pumps at 50% off. And the only ones they had left were the Texaco ones- they were down to 2. These things run 34.99 so I got mine at 17.49 I think. Here are 2 of my boys who are thrilled some manly props have come into the doll room.

All of the metal car statues and signage were on sale at 50% off this week, except for furniture. I wanted the neat little Texaco sign, but it wasn't really tall enough and even half off wasnn't worth it. I did snag these nice vintage looking magnets. I also got ten sheets of brick scrapbook paper at 1/2 off as well. I picked up some polymer clay too with my 40% off coupon.

I dragged out one of my cars to show how in scale these pumps are. I should have bought the other one too. They are about 13 inches in height or more like 13 1/2 inches high- much taller than  GI Joe or Mattel Johnny, so even if a FR homme is next to them or a FR2 doll would be there I don't think they would be overpowered. A vintage style general store/filling station would be cool especially with the signage. I have always wanted to create one of these for the Joes.
All for now- Lisa
