Victoire's Tea and pastry table...

I used today putting the finishing touches on a buffet table for my Chateau project. My Victoire dolls have not had much love lately, so I used Evening in Montreal Victoire to display her. The table has been built for my Marie Antoinette and Louis, to replicate their dining in public scenes from the movie. As well as all of those delicious pastry scenes when she and her friends are pigging out after being fitted for extravagant gowns and shoes. Man, what a life.

New miniature foods listed in my Etsy shop!

I have listed more miniature foods in my Etsy shop (link is above this blog post in the Etsy widget, click on it) namely, three new 1:6 scale bread boards. All of them are different, and each comes with a wooden bread board , stained. Each are priced at $10 with free shipping in the USA. 

I also have moved into larger doll scales of foods and am having alot of fun creating in 1:4 & 1:3 scales. 1:4 scale is generally for dolls that I consider too slim/small for the 1:3 scale foods, such as Sybarites, Tonner dolls, Avant Guards, Ficon bjd, Inamorata fashion dolls, and slim bodied fashion dolls- their hands are far too small to look in correct scale next to 1:3 scale foods. The exception would be MSD sized bjd's who are meant to look like young children and not adults, both scales would fit them. 1:3 scale is generally for dolls such as My Twinn, American Girl, Our Generation, antique dolls, SD & MSD sized bjd's (dolls measuring 18-24 inches in height.) I am also experimenting with creating foods for dolls 68-72 cm bjd's who more or less are 'larger' slightly than 1:3 .  For now, I will post some pictures here of the larger scale items in 1:3 & 1:4 that are listed in the Etsy shop now.

I will probably not be listing any of my miniature foods any longer on Ebay either on auction or in my Ebay store unless it is s a special auction listing. For now, the store has no auctions or listings on Buy it nows at all, the ebay store is empty. One reason is eBay is not a viable place for me with its insane fees and restrictions and feedback policies on its sellers. I will be listing my miniature food items at reasonable prices on Etsy from here on in. Some large scale food items such as the 1:3 scale items may not have free shipping due to size and weight and they need to be packed securely to guard against damage, as well as obviously it takes more product, time and materials to create realistic foods in this scale. I will still be doing commissions, which are currently open.

Let them eat cake!

I have finished working on some 1:6 scale layer cakes and they came out rather nice. So nice that I have two sets- 2 small and 2 large, listed on Ebay auctions as well as my 
Pumpkin Hill Studios on Etsy shop. All are listed with free shipping in the USA.

The cakes are in two sizes, large and small. Large is 1 3/4 high 1 1/2 inches wide & small is 1/2 inch high 1 1/2 inch wide. All cakes come with slice cut out and a doily for display. 

I am hoping to do more of these since they were so much fun to do, so stay tuned for more colors of cakes!

Baking Bread in the Little House kitchen...

Once again I have been baking, or rather, baking for Ma Ingalls. It bothered me there was no goodies or food since Laura talks of baking bread, fishing, many activities which centered around food. So I finished some loaves and biscuits. Who didn't eat biscuits? Being from the South, I remember my grandmother telling me about going to school and taking large homemade biscuits with ham on them, and that was their lunch--however the town kids made fun of her and her sisters because the bread wasn't sliced loaf bread purchased for a nickel at the store! It shows how times have changed. 

There is more bread up in my Etsy store but it's going fast. I never thought in a million years I would create something for a project and then have other collectors admire it and buy it! It is fun. Still planning my boulangerie with sketches and specific dimensions with hubby. I am thinking of making a mockup of foamcore board with the components to get a feel for the dimensions before I start with wood. 

I hope to have the breads I finished last night up in the store by tomorrow or Tuesday!
