More Shopping Deals at Tuesday Morning!

I made a trek into another local Tuesday Morning yesterday after going to the post office and hit paydirt. This was better than expected. I was able to get all Barbie the Look articulated dolls for $14.99!  Barbie The Look tea party has severe cuts on her box so I asked at the register about that and they gave me 10% off. It was about 1.39 off, but the box was damaged and looked like someone mangled it. They were not going to sell it for full price at any price looking like that anyway. I plan to debox her anyway. She is running $29.95 at Barbie Collector , I figure I got her for 13.60 with the damage to the box.Score!

The next one was Barbie The Look In the Jungle? I think, she is the one used alot on Barbiestyle on Instagram and is just adorable.

She's really cute re-dressed. I can't believe I got her for this price without having to pay shipping from Barbie Collector. She is still pretty high there. She is running on sale at $27.99 at Barbie Collector.

She has some cool accessories and her face really is so cute and not sappy looking. I really like her! In fact I love of all of them. I think Mattel hit it out of the part with these look dolls that are articulated.
the back of the box...

A closeup of the damage on the left of Tea's box and her accessories. She is so lovely.

I also purchased Barbie The Look AA Night out. Her accessories and her dress, the whole ensemble, are stunning. This is one gorgeous little lady! At Barbie Collector she is running $29.95. I paid $14.99

Her face is really lovely with the updo, very elegant too. And the makeup accessories are wonderful. I love that dress!

After these three beauties, I found more basics the Look City Shine for $9.99. At Barbie Collector these little ladies are running $19.95

I don't have the blonde in my stash. She is lovely. I probably won't de-box her just yet. She may make a great gift for someone this Christmas or for my collection.

I love the makeup on her face , she is really lovely.

Back of the box. So far I have all four now...

Barbie the Look City Shine the Asian. I already have one of these but I purchased another as a possible gift for my friend Karon who loves everything Japanese. I might possibly make her into a custom doll for Karon with a Japanese flair gown. She loves anything like that and this doll has a lovely face. Karon collects mainly Fashion Royalty , Poppy Parker and Misaki but does love the occasional OOAK too.

So that is what is waiting for you at Tuesday Morning! So get out there and get those deals!

Shopping at Tuesday Morning....

Before I attended the Doll show this weekend, I made the mistake of going to Tuesday Morning while on the way to Walmart. I was actually looking for Easter decorations. I should know better. I went down the toy aisle.

I found the Barbie the Look City Shine AA doll for $9.99 so I purchased two of her.

I have learned from experience it is always better to buy two or three of dolls like this at this price for gifts later on for my friends when holidays roll around and then I don't have to gift shop. They may already have her but then again, might not. I shop like this for the Barbie Look dolls which on the average, at full retail were anywhere from 19.99-24.99 when they were debuted or on Barbie Collector website. So I always have a gift ready for my stash around Christmas or one of my dolly friend's birthday.

I also found the Wild Adventure Blue Box Deer Hunter and Fisherman , both for $7.99 . I loved their accessories.

I love the antlers, bow, and bag. He looks so real! The price is fantastic too.

Here is the bass fisherman. I love the trophy, the fish, the fishing pole, it is all so spot on. There are alot of tournament fisherman in the area here where I live and my husband used to tournament bass fish years ago. I might save this for a gag gift for our anniversary for him.

So that is what you might want to watch out for at your Tuesday Morning, the City Shine dolls- I have also snagged the redhead, a hard to find one and the Asian back haired one as well already, but I didn't buy multiples. I may start looking at other Tuesday Mornings for the dolls so I can have some on hand. I wanted multiples of the redhead because I wanted to do a custom doll on her like my Steampunk Butterfly. These are perfect little dolls for that.

Happy Shopping!

Richmond Doll and Teddy Bear Show!

Today I went to the Richmond Doll and Teddy Bear show. I took a few pictures, because I went on a buying frenzy. The only way I can explain it is I had a bag. I had brought one of those recycled bags, so I had to fill it. lol.

No, this show they had fantastic stuff...at please take me doll collector, please! those kind of deals.

Also beautiful, soulful, antique dolls. I think my husband is glad I don't have gobs of money laying about or one of these beauties and their furniture would have come home with me.

Yeah, I am prop whore. That antique gilded age salesman sample was making me slobber all over the display. Especially that doll with the pink on the right. The antique doll dealer was nice enough to point her out to me. Before I go further, if any of you are nuts about antiques, here is Chad Wilkinson more pics of his booth-

What I liked most about Chad after I asked to take photos was he was so knowledgeable about each and every one of his dolls and bears. They were in pristine condition and he knew all about the history of them. Such a pleasure to deal with. Below is his card with its contact info if you are interested in any of the dolls that you see pictured here in his booth.

There were alot of dealers with Barbie everywhere...

That is my friend Karon gazing at one of the Audrey Hepburn dolls..We do the shows together with our other co-hort in Barbie crime and then we all have lunch.

There was also the large booth that our Va. Fashion doll club does each year, made of several of our members who bring tons of stuff to sell. They have several tables and are always in the back.

Some of their vintage shelves...

They had a few shelves dedicated to playline and Kelly, Chelsea...

Back aisle /back of the booth. Even the shelves on the back of the booth are covered with stuff.

This was the entrance on the booth, where inside you can see Nita on the left, and Laurie , two of our club members inside.

This was the booths up near the front, selling a variety

Now for my loot! What did I buy, you ask? I purchased some great deals from our club booth.

I got this wonderful BMR outfit with the Teresa doll from Debbie at the club booth. Karon had purchased hers for $10, I got mine for $18. I bought it mainly for Poppy. Always wanted this outfit.

Also purchased this Twilight Victoria doll out of the box for $15. I am thinking she will make a great OOAK project for her skin tone and that hair. Medieval like or an angel thing going on. I know I know. I have so many want to do projects going on that haven't begun! Argh....

A little Kelly dress for $2 which is so cute and I have a Kelly with jointed knees it might look cute on or one of my bjd's.

I got the chair from Leslie Greenburg, one of our club members and the zipper barbie case- adorable from another club member selling. Totally awesome.

From another dealer Karon and I found these ladies selling these wonderful handmade gowns. I picked this one up it was $10 and it came with jewelry!!!

Afterwards we went to lunch at a little Italian place called Arianna's and pigged out. I am always so hungry and I really hate eating at McDonald's or fast food joints. I like somewhere that has a good menu and doesn't charge the same amount and the food is good. Karon got  a mushroom and steak sub and I got the philly cheese steak , they both came with fries. Marina got a pasta dish.

So we had loads of fun, after a long hiatus of being sick- it seems everyone has been sick with the flu. Hopefully will be getting together again soon.

Enjoy the pics! Lisa

Barbie Fashionista Curvy Girl #51

I have finally given into the 'Curvy Girl' (aka Fat Barbie) craze when I fell for this little lady while walking down the Walmart aisle. And who can resist her for $7.94?? I know, I know calling Curvy Girl Barbie Fat isn't politically correct but I'm fifty years young and can't get over the fact they made Barbie...curvy...er...fat...Giggle.

Here she is. She is so cute.

Though I have had a couple of new dolls I just haven't taken their pics. This little lady is the first. Her dress is what made me want to take pics of my dolls again. I have just realized it's been almost two months since I have done a real scene or taken an interest in my dolls. It's amazing what being sick with the flu and work can do to you.

Here I have her staged with a Barbie Basics 02 Model Ken and a W Club Bon Bon Poppy Parker. They all seem to mesh together, and the variations in body types flow. I need some other dolls with different skin tones, and then it will look better. These two were just sitting around so I grabbed them.

Here is the whole fashionista line of 2017. The Curvy girls really interest me the most. The petite ones are cute too. I was thinking of using them as fillers in my town, and cafes. I like this little lady alot. I want the one with pink hair so I might be going back to get her.

I just wish, wish wish, they would give the curvy girls articulation. The only curvy girls to have this are the Harlem theatre singer dolls on
barbiecollector.com

Enjoy! Lisa
