60th Anniversary Barbie

When I attended my meeting, I picked up my Christmas loot bag that I didn't get when I was absent from the club Christmas party in December. They had their annual Christmas tea in Lunenberg, Va and it was just too far for me to attend. I have been having some serious health problems, as well as my husband last year, so I was unable to travel that far so soon during the weekend in December.  That Christmas tea was special because our club was able to have a Mattel Representative come and speak to us and she brought us all goodie bags- each one was this beautiful pink Barbie bag with stationary AND a doll! All the bags had different dolls. Mine had the 60th anniversary doll.

She is quite lovely, though the edges of this box have been banged up a bit. I may de-box her and display her on my shelf. I must say the boxes that Mattel is using are poor quality as they do not hold up very well. The cards are really beautiful. It was a nice surprise gift and one which is really nice to have as I ordinarily do not buy these kind of dolls for myself unless they are on sale. She has a cute face, almost like the Steffie face.

More to come soon.

Va Fashion Doll Club Meeting- Valentine's day

I haven't posted for a long time- since the beginning of the year! But I have lots of Barbie related things to post. My Fashion doll club had a meeting this past Sunday. We celebrated Valentine's day. The meeting was held at our Club President, Debbie's house. She decorates the stair railing with tiny Chelsea's or Kellys all decked out in holiday themed dress. We of course take pictures of the delicious food!I did the cupcakes with hearts and candy hearts in the pink bowl.
We exchanged valentine's in the bags you see below- everyone was to bring some handmade valentines to share.

Our theme this time for display was couples that broke up= and what a wild  theme that was! Here are some of the displays below-

I forgot who won, but they were all good. Our characters and Barbie had a tumultuous love life!

Since this is the beginning of the planning for the club year and its activties, we had a lively business meeting, but it was fun. Lots to catch up and talk about since the holidays. And after business- there was always sales to do and a tour of Debbie's doll room! And this was only ONE of the doll rooms, I did not get into all of them, lol.

Enjoy the pics!
