Today was a busy day because the W Club dealers unveiled the new dolls for sale and I was busy placing my pre-orders. I will have more on that later, as I'm sure there are a ton of other blogs out there that have already reported on the hysteria. I have been awol lately because I have been working on a couple of side projects. One is a little pumpkin house for my little Fairyland Realpuki bjd that I never finished, and another is a 1:6 scale marketstall. I came up with the idea when my Va. fashion doll club had been after me to teach them to create miniature food items out of clay. Since it seemed to come to the conclusion to take up a lot of time, I offered to do a short demo of how to make miniature bread instead, and give them a materials list to do it on their own later, so we could devote more time to the dolls/ and presentation . What got me the idea of the marketstall was looking thru the items at Michael's and coming up with the design later. It was actually a planter to begin with and I bashed it into a marketstall.
Here it is. The diorama mushroomed into its own small town junction stop. I will probably do another one for fruits and vegetables, so they can be standing side by side. The gas pump just makes it, I think. I will probably be making another trip to Hobby Lobby for another Texaco gas pump and doing this as my summer diorama on the opposite side near my window in the doll room. I of course, created all the breads.
I hope you enjoy the pics. Both Poppys are wearing the new sparkle girls line. I adore my starlight poppy in the little overalls and daisy duke halter top, she looks so cute barefoot leaning up against the gas pump with the dog. I will probably take some more pains with this dio to make it look more rustic and small town-ish. The marketstall is raised to make it look like it sits on old wooden pallet crates with vintage signs on them, which I printed off the internet and glued on.

Thank you Phyllis, D7ana! Yes, my IT dolls are the ones I lean towards more and more. Barbie is catching up with their more realistic face molds if they would put pivatol bodies on those molds. I do not like the happy/smiley barbie/big head syndrome some of the dolls have, so it is hard to find a realistic mold that will blend and look like a real person. Sometimes they look too cartoonish.
Hi Lisa, I love the marketstall, and I love the whole concept of the small town corner. You're right Your Poppy looks great in their fashionista outfits!
