Saturday- Yard Sale and Thrift Store shopping!

Yesterday I was looking forward to our church's yearly Haiti Yard sale and of course, my Saturday trek to Oddball's Collectibles & Claire's Antiques store. I intended to go to another indoor flea / antique store, but I decided to quit while I was ahead. At the Haiti yard sale it was for two days, 4-6 pm on Friday, September 12th and  8 am to 12 noon on Saturday, September 13th. It is really huge and they sell everything you can possibly imagine. Even though it looked picked over I found some wonderful vintage books and a wonderful little vintage Knickerbocker Raggedy Andy doll.

I got some other vintage books, as well. Then it was onto Oddball's to pick up that other Christmas Barbie I had not purchased last week. I was hoping she was still there- and she was! This week I was able to look more carefully as last week there was a flea market and more customers, this week it was more slow. I not only purchased Happy Holidays Barbie 2008, I also found in another booth a seller had a basket of dolls out of the box bagged with their accessories- Tree Trimming Barbie- and she was mint! for $10. This was one of the grocery store dolls that they would sell in Target or your local Kroger or other grocery store for $8 or $10 back in the day. I could have waited and see if I could have purchased her at the doll show next week on Saturday, but I loved that her hair was perfect.

I will have more blogs upcoming with scenes with the dolls, more to come soon!
