Fluffy, our new resident Cat Queen...

We have recently acquired a new resident cat in our home, my husband and I. And are bowled over by her Majesty, Fluffy.

Yes, she adores having her photo taken, as you can see. She showed up on our doorstep over a month ago , almost starving. It appears someone dropped her, as misguided people do out here in the country, thinking cats can survive. We have two outdoor cats that belong to our neighbors who we feed and she stayed for the meal.

My husband named her Fluffy - we tried a couple of other names, but she was such a good mouser, and squirrel hunter, - the name 'Fluffy the Squirrel Slayer ' stuck as a joke. Eventually we found a clinic that would fix strays and succeeded in getting her spayed. Ever since, Fluffy has been an indoor cat and has stolen both of our hearts.

She also has six toes on both front feet- she is what is known as a polydoctal cat or a Hemingway Cat . Ernest Hemingway, the writer, had six toed cats at his Key West home and their descendants still reside at the historic home. He had a habit of naming them after famous people. Fluffy looks like his first one, who was also white, (Hemingway named his cat Snow White.)

We named our cat Fluffy because of her fur and feathery tail- it looks almost like a squirrel tail. And her eyes are a starry blue-green that are unlike any other cat's eyes in color I have seen before. Her temperament is extremely affectionate.

Although this is off topic, I hope you have enjoyed these photos. Lisa
