Sharing part of a miniature food commission...

Sharing a part of a large miniature food order/commission with you today, I am really pleased as to how this is turning out.

Pictured below are 'Madame Croque' which is basically to us a ham sandwich with melted cheese and a fried egg on top, but more complicated on the recipe end as it uses a French cheese on the ham. Would love to try the recipe I found for it, it sounds yummy. here is a link to the Recipe

This last photo was my photo I used for inspiration or reference.
The commission is for a customer on Flicker visit Bogostick to view her wonderful dioramas. The previous miniature quiches were part of this order too. I like to take my time on commissions so they are PERFECT as possible. Working on more items but was excited these came out so well. The Madame Croques were done singularly instead of being attached to a plate as she wanted to wrap them in paper or plate them, depending on her scene. The paper is tracing paper, which would be waxy like the paper used to wrap these sandwiches in real life.

More on LaBelle's...

More photos of LaBelle's shopping in the boutique I took yesterday. I have been sidetracked from the dolls and my other work so I got these pics taken yesterday, just never have uploaded them. It has been crazy busy here! So enjoy!

As you can see, some of the Silkies have got into the act. Market day has wrapped a package up for Walking suit and Cocktail is just admiring another black dress!(she doesn't know it yet but she may be losing her lovely black gown for Joyful in Japan Poppy who has been eyeing it ) Romaine is still busy with the demands of Agnes and Natalia who are in a ballgown shopping frenzy.
Hope to be planning the Fall and Halloween windows for LaBelle's soon. Stay tuned!

The Big Reveal...LaBelle's boutique & my Ebay store news...

I have finally got to a point where photos of my custom project 'LaBelle's  boutique have been able to be photographed and uploaded to Flicker. Right now I am still configuring a few details and planning the store displays for the rest of the year- like a real boutique would change their windows with the new fashion lines or seasons.

As to my Ebay store Pumpkin Hill Studios I have put the store on vacation settings on hold until August 31st to catch up on commission work as well as working on my main website King William Miniatures After being in business with the large scale of Bespaq I am coming to an end of the remaining stock we have left in these scales. Therefore, configuring auctions - writing them, photographing damaged pieces, etc and then processing and shipping was taking alot of my time- away from commission work. Please sign up and check my blog King William Miniatures Blog (links to this and my other blog are to the left on the scroll menu) with lowered prices of what I have in stock and my contact info by EMAIL if you wish to order. I will be invoicing via Paypal so when you look at the blog and website pictures, email me with your name, email addy thru paypal and valid shipping address so I can configure your shipping costs. I will probably be putting the remaining damaged items on a fixed price basis with pictures on the blog and the website-(the website software takes a while for me to configure, ) so in depth photos will be on the King WIlliam Miniatures blog.

The furniture has been my passion for about 7-8 years now, as has been my intense love of collecting fashion dolls and diorama builds. I honestly now do not know how I could get thru the day without tweaking, working on something for the dolls, it has become a passion and my mantra or raison d'etre if you will. The constant auctions and configuring of listing on Ebay has somewhat sapped my creativity and has given me a stagnant sense of being on a hamster wheel- that I would rather just devote more time to building and commissions as well.

Since the items were made in the late 80's to the early 90's I have listed some of the smaller pieces on Etsy and am attempting to figure out how to list the larger items as soon as shipping can be configured- they are considered vintage now. So you may again, contact me with your order inquiry via email on the large scale Bespaq items I have remaining- and remember, my prices are EXTREMELY reasonable for these lovely pieces no longer manufactured - once they are gone, they are gone.

Onto LaBelle's--- so here are the test photos of boutique furniture placement. The mirrors are by my colleague, Jim Coates Miniatures on Ebay (he also has designed large scale Bespaq and had it manufactured like me-) Still working on some details butit is coming along. ENjoy the photos!~Lisa

A Mad Hatter's Tea....from a Fanciful Twist!

So sometimes I like to browse other blogs. And today- is an online tea party that happens every year at the A Fanciful Twist blog. Vanessa hosts this every year about the same time. Last year I missed out on it, but was determined to do it this year- and what better way to celebrate the summer than a thoroughly 'mad' tea party. Alice is my favorite..the concept is you link back to the Fanciful Twist, who has a whole long list of people having their own tea parties, and you 'tea party hop' from blog to blog....quite a fanciful thing to do!
Of course my dolls love to party...and the Hatter is no exception. Let's see what he has cooked up today! Of course, we will have to drink some of that shrinking potion to fit into these tiny rooms.....or did Alice drink it all??
What's this? a house in a teacup?? with birds and trees? and who is that having tea?

It looks like the Hatter and Doormouse are having their own tea! But where is Alice??
I have no idea where she is-- but she is late! replies the Hatter testily...........

Doormouse is of the opinion they have the 'Wrong' Alice in any case...............

Poor Poor Alice...late to a tea party and has outgrown her clothes, and grown so big she's taller than hatter! Not a very pleasant way to arrive at a tea party!
But Hatter & Doormouse pay no attention, greedily slurping tea! It looks like Alice has ate that cake that makes you grow, but has no shrinking potion to fit!

I must say, Hatter is not very good at giving directions. He led us on a long tiresome walk before giving us some tea...

Who is that? A VERY large cat, watching from afar................

Could it be? It must be Cheshire....who will lead the way....and will take us as far as the March Hare..
But of course, if you do not know where you're going, it doesn't really matter where you end up!
Cheshire grins....then leads the way..........

Alice still needs some of the potion to make her smaller, as she is Um, huge!

With a small little gulp from the bottle she gets smaller and smaller, but alas, her head is still HUGE, but she fits into the tearoom! That Hatter!

Now Alice's head is huge, but the Cheshire is tiny and small! But this is a very very 'mad' tea party isn't it?
And wubba chickens! in her teacup! Alice doesn't like going about with 'mad' people...
But why are the chickens in my teacup?? 'Because they do have to lay their eggs you know,' replies the Hatter. 'But in my teacup? that's a very mad thing to do!"
"Everyone here is all a little mad" replied the Hatter.

"what is the difference between a raven and a writing desk?" asks the Hatter..
I think Alice , like me, thinks of that as a loaded question and stares at the Hatter trying to be polite and think of an answer................
I hope you have enjoyed the Mad Hatter's tea and visiting my blog and having tea with the Hatter, Doormouse, Alice & I in miniature......
Thank you for visiting and having tea with us!!!!!~Lisa
