           Happy Fourth of July!

Not all of my sewing projects for Fourth of July were done, still working on one for the Gene Marshall dolls. But got enough done for cute photos. 

The last photo is what is finished so far on my take of Rosie Riveter. I have finished her blouse and her headscarf, working on those overalls. I have so far finished four skirts and five blouses. alot of sewing so far. After Fourth of July I will be going through my stash and looking at Fall/ Halloween fabrics to get the Gene and Tonner dolls ready for those Holidays.

I will post photos of the finished Rosie later this week. I am repurposing an old worn out pair of my jeans for her overalls which I saved. Never throw anything away! lol!

Christmas in the dollhouse

I had forgot to get these photos of Annabelle and Marie Terese in their dollhouse. I had found the lights at Michael's , and they were the perfect size for the tree. I have had difficulty finding the perfect size lights for this tree, especially since I wanted it to be a Victorian type of tree for these dolls. 

The little Santa in the sleigh on the hearth is very old, as are the Christmas trees on the table. The little Santa mugs on the table are actually mini Hallmark ornaments. 

I made the garland for the mantel originally for my Bespaq fireplace, and it looks wonderful on the Jim Coates fireplace mantel. 

This room is extremely small so there was only room for the tree, one chair, a table and the tree and the dolls and presents. I am really pleased how it turned out.

In Celebration of Beatrix Potter....

Today on this day, in 1866, the wonderful , imaginative author Beatrix Potter was born. Author of the Tales of Peter Rabbit, Two Bad Mice, The Tale of Tom Kitten, Jemima Puddle-Duck, Benjamin Bunny and more. Many people do not know that she was also known as the Lady of the Lakes and a great forest preserve advocate and used the funds from her books to enlarge her estates and grow her properties Hill Top Farm (unheard of for a woman in that era) Peter Rabbit, Flopsy, Mopsy, Hunca Munca, and all of her writing, painting her watercolors, all funded her real passion for farming and nature which made her quite wealthy and showed a shrewdness in land investment.

A Late Post from Annabelle and Marie Terese- fourth of July!

I am VERY late with these Fourth of July celebration photos from Marie Terese & Annabelle. I know you were expecting more Poppy Looks A Plenty, but I need to get these up on the blog! 

I had wanted to do a very vintage/antique photo shoot with these two with these fabrics but because of real life the sewing did not get done on Marie Terese's outfit. I had found alot of antique photos on the outfits of parades, etc. and celebrations they used to do in the late 1890's and early 1900's and wanted to re-create those costumes for these two. Annabelle got a stars skirt. And they got Fourth of July cakes.
