Va Fashion Doll Club celebrates Barbie's 60th Birthday!

So I had posted about my little raffle item I donated for my Fashion doll club's luncheon celebration of Barbie's 60th birthday celebration. It took place on October 13th, 2019 and we held it at a local clubhouse located in the subdivision of one of our member's homes, a very nice place to use, with kitchen facilities.

The only cost of admission was to bring one item worth $20 to raffle off and you could purchase tickets to have a chance at all of the wonderful items donated. The club has done this privately on our own , but we thought it would be wonderful to do this to outsiders to celebrate Barbie's birthday as well as extend our presentations and have some fun trivia games as well as have lunch.

So onto the photos of the raffles, and the fun!

Dolls on the centers of the tables were meant to be from certain 'eras' to fit in with the presentation of fashion and Barbie down through the decades.

There were presentations boards set up with dolls with 'iconic' fashions, career, cocktail, sporting, bridal, nighttime, formal, casual
Sometimes in some of the decades, it was hit or miss.

First up Vintage years

                                  Next up Mod ERA

NEXT- Malibu Era

Next up- Superstar Era

Next up--  Collectible Era

Next--  Silkstone Era

Next-  Inclusive Era

Some eras had so many dolls & outfits to choose from it was hard for the members to choose, so the most iconic and recognizable outfits were chosen from their collections. Before the presentation members at the luncheon were broke into teams and given markers, paper and barbie reference books and asked to 'help' with the presentation and make a poster answering 5 of the basic questions of the presentation and members had alot of the fun as each team was given a specific era to research and some of the answers were fun to find out, and meshed out the club members presentation and helped the attendees feel like they were actually participating and not just sitting listening to a boring presentation on dolls.
Of course, prizes were awarded!
The raffles were then called after lunch, and many won multiples- the more tickets you purchased, the better chances of winning.

(I won Toy Story Barbie! I was so pleased!)

I forgot to take a photo of my Hermoine Harry Potter item on the table, I was so busy taking photos of everything else. But here are my previous photos of it. Nita, a club member won it and she was so happy!

Enjoy the pics!

As with any fun Barbie get-together, there was food! Yummy food and then the desserts!...lucious cupcakes, melt in your mouth cookies, fruit and trail mix. This was a very fascinating Barbie presentation representing Barbies throughout the 60 decades! There were a lot of talent within the audience, so they were called upon to share in the fun. Prizes were given when we played Barbie jeopardy! And, not everyone of these questions were easy either! But, alas, one team out of the three won, and were announced the winners! But with true Barbie unselfishness, there appeared prizes for each participate! The entire evening was a great tribute to Barbie's 60 years of making girls/boys happy through play. Today was a fun day to just play, meet new friends, and honor Barbie 60th Birthday!
