I was finally able to attend my doll club meeting and the theme of this meeting was Road Trip with Red White and Blue! We were hitting the road to meet at Leslie's home in Potomac, Maryland. The partial theme was 'Transportation/ Road Trip' so we all needed to bring dolls on the road, with a car, or some sort of transportation idea. We all also needed to dress in Red, White and Blue to celebrate the upcoming Fourth of July- so NO PINK!
(I was relieved at this restriction!LOL!)
I will only be showing a few photos of Leslie's INCREDIBLE collection. Two items that were fun were her Life size Barbie and her Shoney's Big Boy statue. So sit back and enjoy the pics.
Leslie had cute little themed doll displays all throughout the house. This was her lantern display. Our club member Jodi started the lantern craze from Hobby Lobby and all of us are on the hunt for just the right lantern to display the dolls at the holidays.
My favorite fourth of July display was this Statue of Liberty Barbie from the 80's or 90's displayed with the collectible Plate, and a OOAK Kelly by Luis, on a golden cake plate.
Joey, Leslie's adorable dog, helping a club member Marina, pack up some items. Dressed for the meeting!
Leslie's life size Barbie! and some of her memoriabilia
OMG!!!!
But wait, there's more! Front entrance hall- back to school and graduation display
Grant a Wish Convention Doll

My Fourth of July Cakes on display...
All in all, We all had a wonderful time. Instead of an indepth presentation, we did a swap prize, and you could 'steal' someone's else swap that they picked. The swaps were put in paper bags and you were given a number or you picked a number. After everyone opened their swaps then someone could 'swap' theirs if they saw something they liked better, but you could only do this twice. Everyone liked their swaps so much this the items were only swapped about two or three times. I won an outfit, a Toy story outfit, and a little barbie top. Very pleased. I had taken three swaps of items , two cakes and a nude Mrs. Albee doll that Marina was really pleased to get.
Was a really fun day. So glad to be able to spend time with my doll friends.
