The Christmas Doll and Teddy Bear show

Yesterday on October 26th, 2019, was the Christmas Doll and Teddy bear show here in Richmond Virginia. There were loads of gorgeous dolls. Like my favorites, Madame Alexander Cissy dolls, vintage of course of course.

The ladies of my Va. Fashion doll club were there selling too. They sell every year.

This year I purchased a vintage Ken doll and a pair of black vintage Ken shoes, I want to use my vintage dolls to do a Thanksgiving / Pilgrim scene. I just have to purchase the pattern off of ebay. Now that I have a Vintage Ken, to complete with my vintage Midge, Ricky, and Skipper, and Barbie, I can do the vintage costumes. Now that I think about it, I should have purchased a vintage Allan.

These are some of the vintage dolls for sale in our club's booth...

and more dolls at other booths in the show---

There were also Sylvia Butler's gorgeous dolls and costumes for the Bru and Huret dolls as well as the Bluettes. I love stopping and talking to her. (I am still saving for my Dollspart Huret body for my Huret head I purchased from her. )

I did not take any pics of my loot, not much as I did not buy much. I will take some pics of my Ken on another day. Enjoy!

October is National Dollhouse Month

So...I forgot that October is National Dollhouse month..

I was in the library to pick up some books and saw this beautiful display in a cabinet as you came in the main door, filled with small vignettes of miniatures, and it said 'OCTOBER IS NATIONAL DOLLHOUSE MONTH'  . I used to remember this.

That said, go out and create some miniatures, or tidy up your dollhouse. Your dolls will love you.

I enjoy running into random displays or dollhouses or dolls and miniatures, whatever the genre, so this delighted me.  It was beautifully done and showed some books I did not know of or have in my own dollhouse/ doll library.
Enjoy.
