Spook-tacular October....

I did not post much in September.  I was caught up and am still busy with taking care of my father who had triple by pass heart surgery and is 81 years old, and in astonishingly good health for his age to go through this procedure. The whole month has been taken up with taking care of him, now that he's home, been visiting him in ICU with other friends and family, and then rehab, and so on. As well as taking care of two households, and day to day business.

I thought I might pull out pictures of dolls as I was going through pictures from the archives of a Halloween /spooky nature and start posting them until I can get new ones up. I am in a holiday sort of mood. Just to get the diorama juices flowing. I did not post very much lately, truth to tell, I haven't had much time to even set up or play with my dolls at all.

I have ordered a small pure neemo articulated body for my Alice Blythe, so I can continue her customization. More on that in another later, post when the body gets here and a review.

Since Ihaven't been posting much on my blog, I thought I would do posts with some of my best Halloween or spooky photos of the dioramas I have done in the past for the month of October.  I would like to set up the Gothic Mansion again but I honestly do not see myself having the time or energy with my heavy schedule. I have always, always wanted to do a big Halloween party with my dolls. I just don't have the time and energy it takes right now to stage and build and create the props needed right now, with the family health issues going on.  sigh.

I hope you enjoy the photos, Lisa...

Tony & Pepper's weekend Retreat...

I haven't paid enough attention to Tony Stark....or my High Visibility Agnes who doubles as Pepper Potts, his girlfriend. So I thought they needed a getaway from saving the world to somewhere sunny and warm...shhh it's top secret and even Tony isn't allowed to say where it is.

Some fun pics just because before I take this diorama down to make way for some new diorama pieces....

My favorite Agnes Von Weiss...

Through the  W Club's most recent lottery, I had won one of the new ITBE basics- Morning Dove. I actually liked the doll, but really wanted her shoes and dress more than her. That lovely grey brocade with the shoes is just stunning.
The new backdrop has been getting alot of attention since I started working on new gowns for the dolls. It seems lately like all that has been arriving in the mail is---dolls! One or two days I received two in one day! I also purchased the Barbie wardrobe when theyhad free shipping plus my coupon- this is still unboxed. My birthday is on Thursday, so I just might have a de-box day.

My favorite Agnes is believe it or not, one I did not buy. I have three Agnes Von Weiss dolls and I love them all. The one that is my favorite I won by a great stroke of luck after first becoming a member in 2007? I think. I fell in love with Fashion Royalty dolls when I first saw someone bring them to the fashion doll club -I had just joined. I had never seen dolls that looked like this with such detailing...I was just getting into collectible Barbie ! The W club hosts monthly contests where they give away a doll after they randomly pick one of the postings in that contest thread. I think it was- where do you think the FR convention should be held and why? I still remember opening my email and seeing the unexpected email that I had won! At that time, I did not know all the characters and was still learning about how to order the dolls, etc. What I won was a convention doll - Agnes Von Weiss in Concerto M. She was the diva that took over my collection and still 'owns' the dollhouse, so to speak. It is only fair she snagged Morning Dove's fashion!

She is still such a beauty, with that lovely red hair and green eyes and her beauty mark in the perfect place, sigh. I am having to watch how I pose her because her body is becoming a little loose with age, no yellowing like I have heard of. She usually reigns supreme in the dollhouse so I keep her away from strong sunlight in the doll room in the dollhouse. I have always thought she would make a wonderful 'young Queen Elizabeth' like  Cate BLanchette from the movie Elizabeth...another project on my todo list!

I hope to be taking some more new photos soon when I have time. My schedule has been up and down these past two weeks!~Lisa

Wake up Momoko doll..& more goodies

I have given into the Momoko obsession....yes I caved for another doll line. Momoko is a Japanese line of dolls by Petworks or Seguchi?  I found a dealer in the USA called
Fabric & Friends who fortunately are dealers on the East Coast and their shipping is low- sometimes on new dolls they give free shipping! Their website is easy to navigate and the doll was packed really well. They also sell Integrity as well as BJD's, collectibles, every doll you can think of. Not so much Barbie but those you can buy most anywhere.
I especially liked her box. Unlike most doll collectors, I LOVED her box. It was  plain brown cardboard, and instead of being sewn into the box, the doll was fastened in with elastic straps that had metal /plastic rods that slipped easily through holes. I hate all of those plastic rings and thread going thru the clothing. The plain brown box was not heavy either, thin cardboard. The dealer mailed her in a plain brown shipper like the Integrity sends their dolls in. For me, many times I feel like I'm overpaying for a doll because of the weight of all the cardboard on the boxes!

This doll is part of their 'basic' series, there is another basic in the same outfit with short hair I am thinking of getting. The basics usually wear a pajama outfit with no shoes. Momokos do not have as much articulation as say a Poppy parker- their hands cannot be turned at different angles, but what is appealing for me is the sweet, innocent teen-ager look- they appear to be anywhere from 12- 17 depending on their facemolds. She actually looks like the perfect daughter for To the Fair Poppy. Momoko dolls are also shorter- I would say about 10 inches high or 10 1/2 inches high.
I will take more pics of her today after she is redressed. Already I have named her Cookie, as she is so sweet and loves to cook!
I worked on a whole slew of new cakes yesterday. I am mainly working on creating with what clay supplies I have and using them up.
First up are the 'Rainbow' colored layer cakes- this one has 6 layers of colored cake- red, orange, yellow, green , blue, violet with white icing. The other one is a St. Patrick's day cake with shamrock cookie on top and three various shades of green cake with white frosting as well.
I currently have made enough cakes to put them on Ebay auction as well as inj my Etsy shop - click on the Etsy shop box at the top of my blog and it will take you there.
Layered cakes start at $15 and the Rainbow cake because of its many layers- is $16. I am also selling slices of the rainbow cake with small china plates at $8. All of my items are with free first class domestic shipping in the USA only.
The St. Patrick's day cakes come with a unique Celtic designed doily but all of the cakes come with a doily and cake slice cut out for display.

Let them eat cake!

I have finished working on some 1:6 scale layer cakes and they came out rather nice. So nice that I have two sets- 2 small and 2 large, listed on Ebay auctions as well as my
Pumpkin Hill Studios on Etsy shop. All are listed with free shipping in the USA.

The cakes are in two sizes, large and small. Large is 1 3/4 high 1 1/2 inches wide & small is 1/2 inch high 1 1/2 inch wide. All cakes come with slice cut out and a doily for display.

I am hoping to do more of these since they were so much fun to do, so stay tuned for more colors of cakes!

Breakfast food items, new listings on Ebay & Etsy stores

I have some new food items I just finished, which are listed on Ebay in my Ebay store
Pumpkin Hill Studios & my Etsy store. Click on the Etsy box above on the picture of the item to take you there.
First up are the items on Ebay: 2 plates of pancakes, sausage, and eggs with butter, syrup and blueberries. One plate has fried eggs, the other scrambled. These are large plates 2 inches across. They were alot of fun to make, as my husband loves to eat a big breakfast, so this is just the kind of breakfast for your Hommes, GI Joes, Ken, or your action figures.
Each plate took alot of time to create- $12.99 each and both have free shipping.

I have shown my foods here also with Barbie, Poppy Parker, GI Joe, as well as my Blythe doll Alice. I am really pleased with these two items as I achieved the realism I desired - I always try to improve with each new dish I create.
Next up is the cake with slice cut out of it and it has 5 candles- just blown out!

This one is on Etsy for $15.99 free shipping in the USA only

It is GI Joe's 50th anniversary birthday this year, so this is a perfect cake for him! It has 5 candles on top (they do not light) and one slice cut out of it.
I am working on more miniature food! Please shop my Etsy store links as well as my Ebay store links for these items!
