Barbie Christmas Tree with Ornaments

The Barbie Pink Christmas tree has finally arrived and has been assembled. This tree has been a long time in the collecting and assembling- as far as the ornaments and as far as finding a tree I was satisfied with. When I first conceived the idea, I had seen other collectors, some who were close friends, some facebook friends or others instagram collectors who I followed on social media, and who showcased their Barbie themed trees. I have had several various Barbie Hallmark ornaments in my wide Christmas ornament collection - but had never got around to focusing on collecting the Hallmark Barbie ornaments as I had focused on other pursuits. Once I did, the hunt was on and it was fun! Since I had had most of the dolls it was already fun hunting for that particular ornament to match her. My focus now began on finding a suitable tabletop tree that would be the "right" shade of pink to showcase these ornaments and yet not be that sickening pepto-bismal fuschia pink, that is hard on the eyes. I looked , and to my surprise, found it not at Hobby Lobby, or Michaels- though they did have it, but at Walmart. com at the right price with free shipping and just the amount of lights which were fiber optic with remote control, and string lights. Below are two photos, one at night and one without the lights off. 

I used my Barbie silk scarf as a topper to complete it for a Christmas tree "skirt" on top of a pink cashmere type of pink scarf, to complete the Barbie look. Besides dolls, I collect scarves, and wear them a lot, in my hair, with my coats and sweaters, etc .The scarf tree skirts really make the tree. If you don't have a satisfactory look, a silk or chiffon scarf on top of a piece of fabric or tablerunner, or a piece of velor or velvet will really make a statement with a table top tree.

in my stash when I was looking for other ornaments I knew I had , I used this as a prop with other dolls.

New Hallmark Ornaments!

I did some shopping at my favorite store, Oddball's Collectibles and Claire's Antiques store this weekend as they have a whole booth on some Hallmark ornaments they received in and I was hoping to stock up on my Barbie Hallmark ornament collection for my Barbie Christmas tree. I got four ornaments and might go back, but I have to go through what I already have. These are the four I got.

I got two bride sets, one single bride and a Barbie and Ken bridal set, a barbie doll of the world, and the blue Christmas one.

They had a ton of ornaments, but not all of them were Barbie, I had to hunt through the bins on the tables and they had the booth lined with shelves of ornaments and even down to the floor. Best I can figure is they purchased someone's old store stock as these boxes had never been opened and there were multiples of each one. They had Disney, star wars, star trek, movie themed, character themed, etc. I picked the ones that I were hard to find on Ebay, as there were several there that were high and were common to find on Ebay in lots. I averaged about $10-15 apiece, which is fair since they were from 1997- 1998 and they are new in the box. Hoping to add more as I am planning on having a tabletop Pink tree this year! for what I already own! My goal is to eventually have a 7ft tall pink tree with nothing but hallmark Barbie ornaments year round in my doll room. Enjoy!
