Byers Choice figures- and new Cakes

I recently was lucky enough to win a lot of Byers Choice Carolers on Ebay, and I have been wanting some of these for so long! Ever since I have been going to Williamsburg, where I would see them at the Visitor center boutique, and the Yankee Candle store, as well as the Christmas Mouse, I have lusted after these collectible dolls/figures. As well as their props!! They are just as expensive as a collectible Silkstone Barbie or Poppy Parker individually so to win a lot of them at the price I did I was thrilled.

I also have some new Christmas cakes in the Ebay store Pumpkin Hill Studios
Click on the link and it will take you directly to my Doll Food catagory. I have currently added a 1:6 scale Christmas Gingerbread Man Cake

as well as a 1:6 scale Christmas Peppermint Stick Cake with candy jar

I am hoping to include a more variety of plain, iced cakes with doilies like the one behind the two Christmas cakes. Trying this for staging purposes to see how it looks on my little Christmas stall!

The two Valentine's cakes are already listed in my Ebay store, one is listed as 1:4 scale - the one with the two heart shaped cookies next to the cake slice with the raspberries on top, but this cake would work well for Byer's Choice ( #Byerschoicecarolers ) as well or Barbie too, it would just a little large.
The other one, the bundt cake, comes with four heart shaped iced cookies.

Both cakes come with doilies.

Va Fashion Doll Club Raffle project progress

I have had some progress on my Va Fashion doll club raffle project. I had posted about this a week or two ago. I still have touch ups to do, but we have progressed , despite the incredibly damp weather- which has prevented paint and stains from drying as rapidly as we needed.

I finished the foods, and Chris finished installing the timbers and trims. Pilgrim Ken is as done as I can get him finished, I was more concerned with the table and the foods.

I made a turkey on platter, four seperate servings of turkey, mashed potatoes, string beans with carrots, pumpkin pie, bowl of mashed potatoes, platter with fresh baked bread, and a cake as well. The animals are a turkey, dog, and cat. The back story is John and Priscilla Alden are celebrating Thanksgiving in their home, waiting for friends to arrive to eat the feast and their dog Prudence and the cat Patience with their pet turkey Old Faithful are excited to welcome their friends and family in their new home. (We were asked to write a paragraph to describe our entry. All of this will be done virtually/ online including bidding with our tickets, and later winners arrange to pickup their entries with the raffles. I am really pleased with how it turned out.

Enjoy the pics! Happy Early Thanksgiving.

new miniature food- St. Honore pastry

Have been missing in action but have been working on some new miniature food, and experimenting with different clays. Some have worked, some haven't. I have also been working on my doll room /collection goal list for 2015 and one of the items I listed was - create more of the pastries and cakes for my doll food- not just 1:6 scale, but all scales. Especially the bigger ones- 1:4 and 1:3. Why? I don't quite know except the challenge and feeling of satisfaction that I perfectly replicated something in large, big and small. That is what I did this weekend with the St. Honore pastry.

Here is a pic of the real thing off of google-

And below is the four St. Honore raspberry pastries I created in 1:3, 1:4 and two in 1:6 scale...

Marie Antoinette is holding the one in 1:6 scale....

There has always been one scene in this movie I have wanted to replicate- that is when Marie Antoinette and her friends are eating delectable pastries, strawberries, champagne, on gorgeous priceless china and crystal and 'shopping' for cloth for new dresses- the pug dogs carelessly eat the cake left on the divan. I adored her Mops, and created my own.

Not exactly the same, but you get the picture, lol.

Here are some more photos of Louis, Marie Antoinette and their daughter Marie Therese enjoying a decadent tea with these pastries. I promise to have more photos up with the appropriate sized dolls for the 1:3 and 1:4 scales, but I have to set that photo shoot up.

Here is a hand size comparison-

That pic above is Louis' hand next to the 1:4 scale St. Honore.

Enjoy- and Bon Soir!~Lisa
